Sharing the beauty and joy of homegrown flowers with you.
I didn’t grow up around flowers.
Not in the home or a garden. The first time I was given flowers was for my high school graduation. It was a colorful bouquet of gerbera daisies. They were so bright and cheerful. I couldn’t stop staring at them. Every time I looked at them, it stirred up new emotions of happiness, gratitude, and hope.
The beauty of that moment, with that bouquet of flowers, has lasted longer than any other memory from my high school graduation. Flowers are powerful. They catch our eyes and then move something deeper in our soul.
As time passed,
we developed a backyard oasis and learned how to have a functioning cutting garden. By having garden flowers to arrange with, I have noticed how the natural look of a flower, which has been exposed to the elements, and many visits of honey bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects, has a beauty to it which far surpasses the flowers we often see sourced from commercial greenhouses.
It is now my hope to share the joy I have found with homegrown and specialty flowers with you. Whether that be in celebrating an important occasion, like a wedding or first communion, or just an everyday arrangement on the dining table.
